Imagine any international company, that purchases similar products in different countries by different people. If you could connect those people and their suppliers and show what is on offer, then those purchasing people could join efforts and get better prices and products.
Heinz is such a company. In different European countries marketeers plan for campaigns for which they need premiums, often the same type of premiums. Heinz’s desire was to connect marketeers and bundle their purchasing power in a so-called purchasing community. And so happened.
Marketeers can now post their product requests and other marketeers can join a request to save money through higher volumes and also campaign effort. Different suppliers can bid to the requests. Suppliers can also suggest premiums as inspiration for marketeers.
Up2 was asked to design and develop the community. We created high-end e-commerce software with Drupal to connect supply and demand. The platform is extensive in both functionality and complexity: adding campaigns, adding articles, managing categories, registering and monitoring biddings, overview pages of activities, cooperation features between colleagues to achieve extra volume and lower prices.
Ambitious platform creates win-win situation for buyers (low prices) and sellers (high volumes).
