Rijkswaterstaat, as part of the Dutch ministry of public infrastructure, needed an online interactive visitor centre for communicating and interacting with the public about maintenance in the most dense highway network (Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere) in the Netherlands.
We built a website with possibilities for sharing knowledge by dynnamic interactions , using minigames, fotosafari and time-lapse. And applied special widgets to easily share essential information like construction works and roadblocks with other, external websites.
A trailblazing concept dat ended up being much more usefull than originally planned for. It transformed the internal dynamics within Rijkswaterstaat and fulfilled the need for open communication with the public.
The website is nominated for the Dutch Interactive Award 2014, category ‘best service site’ and Website of the year category “Government”
